Travelling with the love of God

Good Morning

This morning I am keenly aware of the many different roads that we are travelling. For some of us, there is that sense of uncertainty as we look to the future and wonder what the next step is. For others, there is the reality of living with illness that depletes our resources spiritually and physically. And still others find their hearts in a place of deep grieving. Some are filled with joy as they celebrate the gifts that have come their way. Some are merely rolling along taking each day as it comes. No matter where we are, God is there. I am reminded of the passage from Romans that says “ I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God.”

Valerie Shedden of England writes:

God

Your love is like a rock, firm and sure

Which never falters.

It’s like a tree planted firm

Roots deep and penetrating.

Your love is like a breeze

Which coils the earth

And rocks the tree

Disturbing all around.

My love is like a bird

Carried by the wind

Shaded by the tree

And resting on the rock

Of you.

My prayer this day is that wherever you find yourself on the road that you might feel the love and presence of the Divine. May it surround you and lift you up that you might soar on eagles wings.

Blessings, Valerie
