United Church Women (UCW)

The United Church Women Purpose

“To unite all women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian Witness, Study, Fellowship and Service.”

An invitation to all women of the congregation

Why not consider joining in our UCW activities? You can attend any general function, contribute to or participate in any activities or fund-raisers or drop in at a unit meeting at any time. We would love to have anyone join us.

Fellowship

We have made deep and lasting friendships in our general and unit meetings as we share in worship, fun and service.

OutReach

We visit those who are in hospital or nursing homes and those who are shut-in. We send cards of sympathy, support and congratulations. We collect and deliver: food donations to the Colchester Food Bank; personal items to the Third Place Transition House; and food and gifts to the Christmas Index Program. Along with other United Churches in the area, we support a monthly community dinner served to those in need. A Seniors’ Social Tea is offered monthly to our seniors and those in local nursing homes.

Financial Support given to:

Our efforts and funds go to support such programs as: Angola Memorial Scholarship, Cham & Shirley Hatcher Memorial Fund, Finance Committee of First United, Mission and Service.
